Which means I am in a state of general tension/anticipation/furniture-chewing. I’m trying to think of things that happened over the course of my year away from this newsletter, and, let’s see:

Finished another novel.

Had an Omicron to start the year. Lucky, wasn’t harsh.

War with pigeons continues.

Had a film option that I haven’t announced renewed. Another one I haven’t announced expired.

Wrote a story for UNICEF and Global Health Futures

“The City Inside by @samitbasu is one of the most horrifyingly plausible near futures I have ever read. It's also funny, relatable, supremely clever, and deeply political. Highly recommended.”— @KateElliottSFF, New York Times bestselling author
A graphic with a copy of The City Inside by Samit Basu in the center, followed by its ISBN and and pricing (Hardcover: $24.99/ $34.99 Can., Ebook: $13.99). Surrounding the book are other books/forms of media that describe the vibes of The City Inside. On the right, there are images of Altered Carbon, Ghost in the Shell, and Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. On the left, there are images of Severance by Ling Ma and Riot Baby by Tochi Onyebuchi.
