Okay, significantly more than a year away. But we’re two months away from the publication of The City Inside,
Which means I am in a state of general tension/anticipation/furniture-chewing. I’m trying to think of things that happened over the course of my year away from this newsletter, and, let’s see:
Finished another novel.
Had an Omicron to start the year. Lucky, wasn’t harsh.
War with pigeons continues.
Had a film option that I haven’t announced renewed. Another one I haven’t announced expired.
Wrote a story for UNICEF and Global Health Futures

Interviewed David Mitchell for JLF
Learned a new publishing term - a pop chart. This is a pop chart, kids.

Promo season is about to begin, which means I must emerge from my cave and be very upbeat
But there are things to be upbeat about!
The City Inside has been gathering some really exciting anticipated-books-of-2022 buzz, at places like Polygon, Book Riot, The Washington Post, Bookbub, The Portalist, tor.com , Lawyers Guns and Money, and Fantasy Book Critic

I have a couple of things that I’d like to discuss with newsletter readers: first, would you be interested in seeing guest posts from authors with upcoming/recent book releases. Second, is anyone interested in a Duck of Dystopia Slack/Discord?
